About Better Biology
Why we exist
Better biology, not better marketing.
We make science-first wellness products for people who stopped believing the packaging a long time ago.
Walk down any aisle — hair care, skincare, supplements — and the same pattern repeats. A handful of inexpensive base ingredients. A fragrance to cover them. A label making a promise the formula cannot possibly keep.
The markup is rarely on the science. It is almost always on the story.
We are not trying to build a cheaper version of this industry. We are trying to build an honest one.
That means accepting a lower ceiling on what we are allowed to claim. It means telling people when a product will not help them. It means publishing timelines slower than the ones our competitors advertise, because those are the real ones.
It is a harder way to sell. We think it is the only way to build something that lasts longer than one ad account.
Four rules we hold ourselves to
Every active is named, along with its job
No proprietary blends. No hiding a formula behind a trademark. If an ingredient is in one of our products, it is on the page with a plain-language explanation of what it is meant to do — and where a formula contains something synthetic or petroleum-derived, we say so rather than reaching for the word natural.
The timeline we publish is the real one
Biology runs on its own schedule and it is almost always slower than a marketing calendar. Skin turns over in weeks. Hair grows in cycles measured in months. Nutrient status shifts gradually. We give you the honest number even when a shorter one would convert better.
We tell you when a product is wrong for you
Some concerns are cosmetic and some are medical, and the difference matters enormously. When what you are dealing with would be better served by a doctor, a dermatologist or a blood test, we say so — before you buy, not after. We lose a small number of sales this way and we consider it the cost of being worth trusting.
Leaving is as easy as joining
Every subscription can be paused, skipped, rescheduled or cancelled from your account in about two clicks. No phone call. No retention screens engineered to wear you down. A business that has to trap people is telling you something about its product.
Where we are going
We launched in hair care because it was the category where the gap between what is claimed and what is delivered felt widest — and because thinning hair gets treated as a vanity problem when for most people it is a confidence problem.
The approach travels well beyond it. The rule stays the same regardless of category: name the actives, explain the mechanism, publish the honest timeline, and state clearly who the product is not for.
Hair
Scalp and follicle support built around studied botanicals rather than fragrance and a promise.
Skin
Targeted topicals with named concentrations, and honest expectations about what a cosmetic can and cannot do.
Supplements
Third-party tested formulations with dose rationale published, not hidden behind a proprietary blend.
What we will never do
- Invent customer reviews, or use stock photography as evidence of results
- Describe a cosmetic or supplement as a treatment for a diagnosed medical condition
- Run a countdown timer that resets when you reload the page
- Claim a formula is entirely natural when it is not
- Make cancelling harder than subscribing
These read like low bars. In this industry they are not, and that is precisely the problem we are trying to be the answer to.
Questions, criticism, or a product that did not work
We would genuinely rather hear it. Email us and a person replies — usually within one business day. If something we sold you did not do what you hoped, we would rather resolve it than keep the money.
Start with one product.
See whether we do what we say. That is the only test that matters.
